How to Decrease Stress

Stress can worsen chronic diseases. Decreasing stress can greatly improve your numbers. One way to do this is to practice deep breathing. The 4-7-8 technique involves you inhaling for 4 seconds, holding your breath for 7 seconds, and then exhaling for 8 seconds. Practicing mindfulness using an app like Calm is also a great method. Moving your body by walking, doing yoga, or stretching for 20-30 minutes can also help.
